Katherine’s passion is helping parents who are struggling to connect, communicate, and relate to their children, find more meaningful and enjoyable relationships during the brief formative years when family is the greatest source of support. She specializes not only in helping to provide a safe, secure environment for parents to understand and process their feelings and experiences, but in supporting them with resources, education, and training so parents can feel better supported and equipped to handle the often emotional roller coaster of child-training.

You are parenting a child who struggles with attachment, developmental differences, or complex trauma — especially through adoption — and you long for deeper connection in your family.
I specialize in supporting children as they heal from the painful (and often neurological) effects of trauma, while equipping parents with practical tools, insight, and confidence to engage, regulate, and nurture their beloved child.

Parent training and coaching are the primary focus and specialization of my work. I believe that the most powerful and lasting influence in a child’s life is their parent or guardian. When caregivers feel supported, confident, and equipped with effective tools, meaningful change becomes possible.
My approach centers on strengthening and supporting parents while also nurturing the parent–child relationship. Enhancing this bond is foundational to a child’s emotional development and overall well-being.
Parent coaching is typically solution-focused. While it can be helpful to understand the underlying motivations behind a child’s behavior, our work remains grounded in the present—focusing on practical, actionable strategies that can be implemented right away. Together, we identify clear goals and develop tools that foster connection, consistency, and positive change within the family.
I also offer individual counseling to adolescents 12+, families, and parents who are looking for deeper exploration of the past and the why of their current circumstances, behaviors, and feelings as well as ways to process through them.
